Espíritu de Argentina’s Malbec wines were highly awarded at two important European wine competitions: Within the classic program category, Espíritu de Argentina Malbec was honoured with a gold medal at Germany’s leading wine competition MUNDUSvini. The Reserva Malbec received a silver medal at Austria’s largest international wine valuation AWC Vienna.
The gold winning Malbec captivates with flavours of ripe plums and a touch of mint. An impressive deep ruby colour and supple tannins make it a fine example for Argentinean Malbec. Chief Winemaker Luis Villareal has responsibility for ensuring the quality of all Espíritu de Argentina wines.
The carefully selected grapes used to produce these award winning Malbec wines come from the heights of Tupungato in the Uco Valley. This region is famous for Malbec and situated in Mendoza; Argentina’s premier winegrowing region. With growing conditions that are ideal for the Malbec vine at altitudes of up to 4,900 ft and deep, stony soils, this 2006 Malbec is maturing into an exceptional wine.
The brand is being produced in co-operation with the Monte Real winery, a renowned, family-owned business, which counts among the top wine producers in Argentina. With its own three wineries and its significant acreage of vineyards in the Mendoza wine-region, Monte Real is in a position to offer the full variety and excellent quality of Argentinean viticulture.
